The hotel offers spacious, clean, and modern rooms with a nice and warm ambiance. Although some unfinished paint work and decor were noticeable, my stay in room 105, facing a courtyard with views of the hills over the rooftop, was adequate and ideal for dining.

I had a great time at the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and it was a good value for money. The service was excellent, especially the housekeeping. The location was perfect for walks with my dog and had stunning grounds to relax in. The dining experience had its ups and downs, but overall, it was of good quality. The facilities offered were satisfactory.

I liked the fact that I could take my dog with me for walks in the area. The hotel is right next to the river Tweed and on the edge of Melrose, offering a beautiful setting. The reasonable cost and location make it a great choice.

My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The room was not up to the expected standard, with issues like draughtiness, coldness, and a damp bathroom. Despite a lovely breakfast and bright, spacious, and clean dining area, the initial room confusion, poor TV reception, and noise from the kitchen affected my overall enjoyment. However, the price was on the higher side, which made it less appealing for the value offered.
Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was disappointing, with draughty and cold conditions and a damp bathroom. We were given a sub-standard room different from what we booked, impacting our stay negatively.
Service
6.0
The housekeeping service was decent during my stay.
Location
7.0
The hotel is located in lovely grounds with a walk down to the river, suitable for exploring the area. However, the view from my room and the noise from the kitchen were drawbacks.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience had its ups and downs. While breakfast was enjoyable with a good selection, the main meals were a bit lacking. Some parts of the hotel showed signs of age.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offers a mix of refurbished and aging areas. It provides good entertainment, but some facilities need updating.
